An Evening to Remember...With The Nichols Family
At the Morrison's Place, Norwalk, CA  Dec. 12, 2001

Mr. and Mrs. Nichols of Baltimore, MD visited a few adoptive families with their daughter Ellen.  The Rev. Kim Hong Deok is writing a book on this incredible family.  Mr. and Mrs. Nichols' testimony was very moving, and Ellen's singing of "Na.." (I...) was very beautiful and touching.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Nichols are blind. Despite their setbacks, they adopted four children from Korea with 2 of those children being blind, including Ellen.

When asked how they view God and His doings and them being blind, they replied, "God has a purpose for each of our lives and we don't always understand fully.  But we have lived fruitful lives and we are very grateful for all that God has blessed." Mr. Nichols said, "If I wasn't blind, I would not have met my wife, and if I hadn't met my wife, I would have never thought of adoption.  If that was the case, I don't know what would have happened to Ellen and the other three children.  They may still be in orphanages in Korea. Therefore I believe God has purpose for each of our lives and we are glad because of that."  That was enough to move all of our hearts that night.

"Be careful with that drink, Joseph!'
